Robert Vercruysse Robert M. Vercruysse, listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Michigan Super Lawyers - Top 100, Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, and Who's Who Legal USA - Management Labour and Employment, and a past Chair of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, is nationally recognized as a leading counselor and litigator in all facets of employment, labor, civil rights, and ERISA litigation. His clients include manufacturing operations, newspapers, news organizations and television stations, distributors, financial institutions, hospitals, physician groups and institutions of higher education.

Mr. Vercruysse graduated from Michigan State University with high honors and received his J.D. (cum laude) from The University of Michigan Law School. He served as a law clerk in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and was an adjunct professor at The University of Michigan Law School. A regular contributor to legal and professional publications, he is likewise a frequent speaker and lecturer to various business, professional, and trade organizations.

Mr. Vercruysse is a member of the American Bar Association Labor Law Section's Equal Employment Opportunity Committee and has been a presenter at the Committee's annual and midwinter meetings. He is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and a charter member of the American Employment Law Council, of which membership of experienced labor and employment attorneys from across the nation is by invitation only.

Mr. Vercruysse is also a life member of the Sixth Judicial Conference, U.S. Court of Appeals, a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the Michigan State Bar Foundation, a Trustee of the Historical Society of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, on the Michigan Employment Relations Commission's Advisory Committee, on the EEOC Advisory Committee on ADR, and on the ABA/EEO Liaison Committee for Michigan. He also serves as an arbitrator, mediator, and facilitator.

Mr. Vercruysse is the President and a founder, director and shareholder of Vercruysse Murray & Calzone, P.C., which is located in the Detroit, Michigan, metropolitan area.



William AltmanWilliam E. Altman practices in the areas of labor, employment, and benefits litigation on behalf of private and public sector employers. He has extensive experience representing employers in cases involving anti-discrimination laws, whistle-blower and retaliation actions, ERISA actions, non-competition agreements, trade secrets, fiduciary duty actions, and class actions. Mr. Altman defends employers in state and federal courts and before state and federal agencies.

Mr. Altman also advises employers regarding their obligations under state and federal employment laws, including employment and separation agreements, employment policies, internal investigations, and compliance with state and federal anti-discrimination, wage and hour, and benefits laws.

Prior to joining Vercruysse Murray & Calzone, P.C., Mr. Altman served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Robert E. DeMascio of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
