NEW: Minimum Wage
The new rate is $11.00. Also, a tip credit is being implemented that allows employers to count tips as a percentage of their minimum wage requirement, thus reducing the employer's share of the minimum wage, as long as the tips make up the difference. This applies as follows:

Hotel and Restaurant employees
$4.05 - Tip Credit
$6.95 - Employer's Share (difference between minimum wage and tip credit)

$2.04 - Tip Credit
$8.96 - Employer's Share (difference between minimum wage and tip credit)

Effective Date: January, 2018

Connecticut Pregnancy Discrimination
The Connecticut Pregnancy Discrimination poster has been released by the Connecticut Department of Labor. The new poster explains that employers are prohibited from discriminating against an employee on the basis of pregnancy, including failing or refusing to provide a reasonable accommodation.
